2026 World Cup Standings: Knockout Bracket Updates and Qualification Scenarios Through June 25

The countdown to the 2026 World Cup knockout rounds tightens as some teams have already secured their spots in the Round of 32, while others continue to battle for qualification. Several squads remain in contention heading into Thursday’s matches, including Ivory Coast, Curacao, Ecuador, Sweden, Japan, Netherlands, Australia, and Paraguay.

Germany and the United States have already clinched top spots in their groups. Meanwhile, Tunisia and Turkey are out of the tournament.

Key Qualification Scenarios

Group A:Mexico secured first place with a win over South Korea. South Africa clinched second place after beating South Korea, who are now out of the top two but may still qualify as one of the best third-placed teams. Czechia has been eliminated.

Group B:Switzerland leads after a win over Canada, who finished second. Bosnia and Herzegovina is likely to advance as a top third-place team following their win against Qatar, who are eliminated.

Upcoming Knockout Schedule

The Round of 16 follows from July 4 to July 7, quarterfinals run July 9-11, semifinals on July 12-13, and the final on Sunday, July 19. There will also be a third-place match on July 18.
