Arsenal Shows Interest in RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande After Missing Morgan Rogers

After losing out on Morgan Rogers, who has joined Chelsea, Arsenal swiftly turned their focus to other attacking talents to boost Mikel Arteta's frontline. Their attention has landed on Yan Diomande, a versatile winger currently playing for RB Leipzig.

Early Enquiry Made for Yan Diomande

Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Arsenal has submitted an exploratory enquiry regarding the promising Ivory Coast player. This initial step is not yet a formal negotiation but shows clear interest in Diomande's abilities.

Paris Saint-Germain already seem far ahead in the race, having agreed on a five-year deal with the 19-year-old. Meanwhile, Leipzig hopes to retain him for another season or secure a contract extension, valuing him around 30 million (30m). Diomande prefers playing on the right wing, which aligns with his expected role if he joins PSG.

A Tough Challenge Ahead for Arsenal

From Arsenal’s point of view, this move appears more like a backup plan rather than a serious transfer pursuit. Convincing Diomande to change his mind after agreeing personal terms with PSG would be difficult. Additionally, since Arsenal’s primary need is on the left wing, Diomande’s preference for the right side complicates matters.

Despite this, the player’s potential remains significant. Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schafer previously praised Diomande for his speed, dribbling skills, athleticism, and finishing ability. But unless PSG's deal falls through or the player suddenly reconsiders, Arsenal might find it wiser to concentrate on more realistic targets that better fit their tactical requirements.
