Klopp’s First Game Ends in Disappointment

Klopp's start as Germany boss was marred by a late equalizer from Cody Gakpo, which denied Germany victory after Felix Nmecha scored in the first half. The night took a turn for the worse when Havertz left the field in the 32nd minute following a tough tackle from Quinten Timber. Arsenal will now anxiously await news on Havertz's condition ahead of their busy schedule.

Double Setback for Germany

Havertz went down with what looks like a hamstring injury shortly after Timber's challenge and had to be treated on the pitch before being replaced by Younes Eboutalib. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich’s Musiala pulled out during the warm-up due to a thigh problem. After the game, Klopp shared his worries with RTL:

"Both are currently undergoing an MRI. I hope we get the diagnosis this evening. This isn’t great. I hope it’s nothing serious. The lads are probably out for us, but hopefully they’ll be back relatively quickly."

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is already dealing with several absences during the international break. Declan Rice and Marli Salmon have withdrawn from England’s senior and Under-18 squads, while Jurrien Timber was left out of the Netherlands squad for the Germany clash as a precaution due to recent injury issues. Now with Havertz added to the list, Arteta will be hoping for good news from the medical scans.

Comments from Klopp suggest both Havertz and Musiala could miss Germany’s next three matches, including two games against Greece and a crucial fixture versus Serbia. For Arsenal, the focus turns to the Premier League game against Leeds United on October 10.
