Arsenal Predicted XI for Pre-Season Clash Against Real Betis as Arteta Makes Two Changes

Mikel Arteta may opt for a couple of adjustments in Arsenal's starting eleven for their upcoming pre-season match against Real Betis in Dublin on Wednesday.

The Gunners recently defeated Girona 4-1, with fresh faces like Piero Hincapie, Viktor Gyokeres, and Kai Havertz making their first appearances since the World Cup. Havertz opened the scoring, while none of these players were on the pitch for more than 33 minutes as Arteta chose to be cautious.

Gyokeres might get some rest from the start this time because Gabriel Jesus is ready to lead the attack again. Jesus completed the scoring against Girona after earlier goals from Max Dowman and Christos Tzolis, who are both expected to keep their spots out wide. Meanwhile, Reiss Nelson looks set to depart the club.

In midfield, Myles Lewis-Skelly has attracted surprising interest from Manchester United, but he remains a key player for Arsenal, especially with Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, and Mikel Merino still unavailable. Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri are likely to continue alongside him, forming the midfield trio.

Defensively, Hincapie is expected to start once again. Gabriel Magalhaes will probably be rested at kickoff. Ben White, who played 61 minutes against Girona despite recovering from a knee injury, could be left out as a precaution. This would give Marli Ellis Salmon a chance to impress, shifting Cristhian Mosquera to right-back.

Projected Starting XI for Arsenal vs. Real Betis

  • Goalkeeper: Kepa
  • Defenders: Mosquera, Salmon, Hincapie, Calafiori
  • Midfielders: Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly, Havertz
  • Forwards: Dowman, Jesus, Tzolis
