Arsenal Firm on Noni Madueke's Future Despite January Interest

Arsenal have drawn a clear line ahead of the January window: Noni Madueke is going nowhere.

Mikel Arteta still sees the 24-year-old as an important part of his attacking armoury at the Emirates, despite his near-invisible role in the Premier League so far this season. The stance is firm. Approaches will be rejected.

According to Football Insider, the club are ready to bat away any bids or loan offers for the winger this winter. Interest is not in short supply. Frustration over his lack of league minutes has alerted clubs across Europe, with Juventus and Atletico Madrid among those tracking his situation closely.

The Italian side are understood to be weighing up a mid-season loan to boost their forward options, while Atletico have also registered serious interest. But the pressure from abroad is meeting a brick wall in north London.

Arteta is in no mood to weaken his squad midway through a demanding campaign. He wants senior depth, not another gap to plug. Madueke, he believes, still has a role to play.

Crucially, the player is on the same page. Madueke is not pushing for the exit door. There is no immediate desire to walk away from his Arsenal career, no agitating behind the scenes. He is prepared to stay and scrap for a place in Arteta’s starting XI.

That fight, though, is brutal on the right flank.

Bukayo Saka remains untouchable as first choice, the cornerstone of Arsenal’s attack. Behind him, highly rated teenager Max Dowman is forcing his way into the conversation, stacking up arguments for more senior minutes of his own. Madueke has been squeezed between an England star and a rising prodigy.

The numbers are stark. Just 24 minutes of Premier League football this season, spread across two substitute appearances. No goals. No assists. For a player in his prime years, that is a thin return.

Cup competitions have told a different story. Madueke started the Community Shield, featured in a Champions League win over Napoli, and found the net in Arsenal’s 4-2 Carabao Cup victory against Ipswich Town. When the stage has shifted away from the league, he has looked far more involved, far more dangerous.

Even so, the lack of consistent domestic action has already carried a cost. Thomas Tuchel left Madueke out of his latest England Nations League squad, with concerns over his match sharpness and rhythm counting heavily against him.

So the winter schedule looms large.

With fixtures stacking up across the Premier League, Champions League and domestic cups, rotation will not be optional for Arteta; it will be essential. That period represents Madueke’s window. Every cup tie, every European group game, every chance to spell Saka will be an audition — not just for more Arsenal minutes, but for a route back into the England setup.

For now, though, one thing is non-negotiable. A January transfer, whether permanent or on loan, is off the table. Madueke’s future, at least in the short term, will be decided in north London, not Turin or Madrid.
