The Catalan club has officially reached out regarding Porro, who impressed internationally during Spain’s recent World Cup victory. The 26-year-old played nearly every match for Spain in the tournament held in North America.

Since joining Spurs on loan from Sporting CP in January 2023, Porro has delivered strong performances over four seasons in the Premier League, capturing the attention of top clubs like Barcelona.

The interest in Porro arises as Barcelona faces pressure from Arsenal’s intent to sign Jules Kounde. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eager to complete the transfer before the summer window closes.

Spanish journalist Gerard Romero revealed that contact with Porro’s representatives has been made recently. Despite Porro being one of Tottenham’s highest-paid players, having signed a new contract this June extending to 2031, Barcelona is exploring options should Kounde leave.

"Contact has been made in recent days with Pedro Porro, with the full-back’s entourage," Romero said. "Kounde has many offers from the Premier League; although he hasn’t shown signs of leaving yet, the situation remains open."

Spurs coach Roberto De Zerbi emphasized Porro’s importance to the team after his renewal.
