Bayern Munich Triumphs 3–1 Over Leipzig: Diaz Shines and Saibari Impresses

Bayern Munich stepped up their preparations for the new campaign with a sharp 3–1 win over RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, a performance that mixed early control, a brief wobble, and a decisive late surge.

Luis Diaz, Bayern’s Colombian summer arrival, needed just 14 minutes to make his mark. Drifting into space and timing his run, he opened the scoring and instantly changed the tempo of the contest. Bayern carried that narrow 1–0 lead into half-time, looking the more polished of the two German sides but still leaving the door ajar.

Leipzig walked through it after the restart. On 52 minutes, Bryan Gruda dragged them level, punishing Bayern’s lapse and briefly tilting the rhythm of the evening. The equaliser jolted the hosts. The response was immediate.

Five minutes later, Nathaniel Brown restored Bayern’s advantage. Latching onto a precise pass from Aleksandar Pavlovic, Brown pounced and turned pressure back into a lead, a reminder of the depth Bayern are assembling ahead of a long season.

The second half then delivered a first glimpse of a new face. Moroccan international Ismael Saibari entered the fray on 71 minutes, replacing Tom Bischof for his Bayern debut after his move from Eindhoven. He did not wait long to justify the excitement.

Around 10 minutes after coming on, Saibari produced his first telling contribution in Bayern colours, setting up fellow substitute Jamal Musiala for the third goal. The move underlined the impact from the bench and appeared to settle the contest.

Musiala’s night, though, ended abruptly. The playmaker fainted in the 86th minute and had to leave the field, with young Senegalese player Bara Ndiaye coming on in his place. It was a jarring moment in an otherwise encouraging outing for the hosts.

Bayern now turn from tune‑up to silverware. Borussia Dortmund await in the domestic Super Cup on Saturday, before the Bundesliga opener against Stuttgart on 28 August begins the real examination of how ready this team truly is.
