Celtic Launch League Cup Campaign Under Martin O’Neill

Martin O’Neill is back on the touchline tonight as Celtic launch their League Cup campaign away to Dundee United – and he has wasted no time freshening up a winning team.

A week on from that emphatic 5-1 SPFL victory at Kilmarnock, the Celtic manager has made four changes for the tie at Tannadice, signalling that this cup run will be managed on his terms, not on reputation.

Liam Scales returns to the starting XI, with Sebastian Tounekti and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also coming in, while Colby Donovan is handed a place from the off. Dropping out from last weekend’s line-up are Arne Engels, Alistair Johnston, Kieran Tierney and Yang, all missing from the starting group this evening.

There is intrigue on the bench as well. New Bhoys Haissem and Hassan are both named among the substitutes, joined by Mika Baur, who completed his move to the champions during the week and is involved immediately.
