Chelsea’s latest signing Chavarria has called his move to Stamford Bridge “a dream” and promised to throw himself into the challenge of Premier League football.
Speaking to the club’s official channels after completing his switch from Rayo, the Spanish defender did not hide what the move means to him.
"I'm so excited to get started. This is a dream for me as Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world.
It is a big opportunity but I am prepared and will work hard to help the team achieve success. There are a lot of people who have helped me get to this moment and I have to thank my family. They have always supported me and today is only possible because of them."
Alonso reshapes his Chelsea
With the new season fast approaching, Alonso has wasted no time throwing Chavarria into tactical drills at Cobham. The 28-year-old arrives with a reputation for reliability: 44 appearances for Rayo across all competitions last season underline his durability and consistency.
