The reduction in Camara’s price came after Monaco’s attempt to sell Folarin Balogun to Everton collapsed when Balogun failed his medical exam.

Before this late agreement, Monaco had turned down two earlier bids from Chelsea for Camara. Chelsea had also briefly eyed Manu Kone as an alternative, but Roma blocked that move. Funding Camara’s Arrival Through Fernandez Sale

The sale of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City was the key factor enabling Chelsea to complete Camara's signing. After months of negotiations, Chelsea accepted City's final £125 million offer, following initial demands for a higher fee. This influx of cash allowed Chelsea to offer Camara a six-year contract with an option for an additional year. Since 2024, Camara has made 75 appearances for Monaco, scoring six goals.
