Colin Dagba Joins Carrarese: A Strategic Move for Serie B
Carrarese have moved decisively in the market, snapping up right-back Colin Dagba on a free transfer and tying him down to a long-term deal that runs until June 30, 2028.
The 27-year-old arrives after leaving Belgian side Beerschot on July 1 and steps into Serie B with a contract that could stretch even further, thanks to an automatic extension clause linked to performance targets. For a club fighting to find its feet early in the season, this is a statement of intent.
From Paris to Carrara
Dagba’s name carries weight. A former France Under-21 international and Paris Saint-Germain defender, he brings pedigree that is rare at this level. Carrarese made sure to underline that in their official announcement, highlighting a full-back who offers far more than just energy down the flank.
“The French right-back, born in 1998, boasts impressive attacking ability, pace, and prowess in attacking play,” the club said, leaning into the attributes that once made him one of PSG’s most intriguing young options.
They were just as keen to stress that he is no luxury player. “At the same time, he is consistently alert and consistent in defense, especially in marking,” the statement added. In other words: not just a runner, but a defender they trust to lock down his side.
Titles in the luggage
Dagba does not arrive as a prospect. He arrives with a CV.
Across all competitions, he made 77 senior appearances for PSG, including seven in the Champions League. In Paris, he collected three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies and two Trophee des Champions wins, before loan spells at Strasbourg and Auxerre broadened his experience in French football.
For Gabriele Cioffi, this is an upgrade in both quality and know-how. Carrarese gain a player who has trained and competed alongside some of Europe’s elite, now stepping into a dressing room that needs exactly that kind of edge.
