Crystal Palace Signs Axel Disasi on Loan for 2026-27 Season

Crystal Palace have added real weight to their back line, confirming the loan signing of Axel Disasi from Chelsea for the 2026-27 season.

The 28-year-old centre-back arrives with proper Premier League mileage. Since joining Chelsea in 2023, he has taken in loan spells at Aston Villa and West Ham, amassing 58 top-flight appearances across the three clubs. At international level, he has five senior caps for France, underlining the pedigree Palace are bringing through the door.

Disasi made no attempt to hide his excitement at the move.

"I'm very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going," he said. He also knows exactly what awaits him at his new home ground. "I know that it's very tough to play against Palace at Selhurst Park - so I'm looking forward to being on the other side now."

This is not a token addition. Disasi becomes the seventh signing of the summer under new manager Pierre Sage, who is wasting no time reshaping the squad in his image. The French defender’s arrival adds experience, height and aggression to a group clearly being rebuilt with a long season in mind.

Palace chairman Steve Parish underlined the significance of the deal.

"We are pleased welcome a defender of Axel's experience and calibre to Palace for the season. I look forward to seeing him in action at Selhurst Park," he said.

With Disasi through the door and Sage’s overhaul gathering pace, the question now hangs in the air around south London: where should Palace strengthen next before the window slams shut?
