Endrick Commits to Real Madrid for 2025-26 Despite Aston Villa Interest

Endrick has decided to remain with Real Madrid for the 2025-26 season, turning down interest from Premier League side Aston Villa. This decision came after discussions involving the player, the club’s management, and head coach Jose Mourinho.

Agreement Made at Valdebebas

Reports from The Athletic reveal that despite persistent attention from top European clubs eager to benefit from Endrick’s limited playing time, he is set to continue his journey in Madrid. The choice was a joint one, reflecting input from all parties concerned.

The Brazilian forward, only 20 years old, has attracted several suitors this summer, with Aston Villa closely monitoring his progress since his arrival in Europe.

Mourinho’s Tactical Plans for Endrick

Under Jose Mourinho, Endrick is expected to feature more frequently on the right wing. Mourinho does not see midfielders like Federico Valverde or new signing Bernardo Silva as permanent solutions for that position. Using Endrick there would add a natural attacking threat on the flank, balancing out a frontline that often favors the left side. This setup aims to create a fluid front three where players can interchange positions seamlessly during matches.

In addition to the wing role, Endrick will be a key backup option as a central striker. He will share this responsibility with new arrival Carlos Espi while serving as the main understudy to star forward Kylian Mbappe. This multi-role plan ensures Endrick remains integral to the squad across both La Liga and Champions League games.

Tracking Endrick’s Progress Since Joining Madrid

Endrick moved to Real Madrid from Palmeiras in July 2024 for an initial €35 million fee, with potential add-ons reaching €25 million. His time at the club has come under close watch, carrying heavy expectations. So far, he has made 40 appearances and scored seven goals in limited opportunities.

Internationally, his reputation remains strong. He was selected by former Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti for Brazil’s 26-man squad at the recent World Cup. Endrick played in almost every match for Brazil, who were eliminated in the round of 16 by Norway.

Preparation Ahead of New La Liga Season

Real Madrid are preparing for their opening La Liga game against Espanyol on August 22. Keeping Endrick contrasts with the club’s treatment of other young talents; for example, promising teenager Franco Mastantuono has been loaned to Fiorentina for the season.

Endrick’s situation will be reviewed again in January, similar to how he was loaned to Lyon earlier this year due to limited game time. During his spell in France’s Ligue 1, he impressed by scoring eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.
