Facing the media with the Brazil national team, the Chelsea winger refused to question his new manager’s choices at Stamford Bridge, steering clear of any hint of controversy over team selection. The message was clear: he will let his work, not his words, do the talking.

“I think every coach has their own way of playing,” the former Palmeiras standout said, when asked about the battle for minutes in a packed Chelsea forward line. The competition is fierce, but he framed it as a daily test rather than a problem.

“Of course, we work every day, I give my best every day, and that's what I do,” he continued, stressing the routine that now shapes his life in London.

He pointed to the quality around him at Chelsea and made it clear he sees that as a standard to reach, not an obstacle to complain about. “We have quality players at Chelsea, so what I do is focus on what I can control, I try to give my best in training, when I get an opportunity I try to give my best, it goes day after day.”
