Ferran Torres Approaches PSG Move as Barcelona Clears Path

Ferran Torres edges closer to Paris Saint-Germain with every passing hour, and Barcelona’s latest move has effectively cleared the runway for his departure.

An initial agreement between Barça and PSG over the Spain international is already in place, with negotiations in recent hours turning into a blur of calls, revised proposals and fine-print tweaks. The back-and-forth has now produced what both clubs consider a settled framework for the transfer.

The clearest sign yet came on Thursday morning. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona allowed Torres to miss training for a second consecutive day. No disciplinary issue. No mystery injury. Just a player, 26 years old, using the time to put the finishing touches on a switch to Paris that now has the full blessing of his current club.

Torres had been due back with Hansi Flick’s squad on Wednesday. Instead, while the German coach worked with an evolving group at the training ground, the forward focused on completing his move to the French champions, with Barcelona and PSG negotiating in parallel.

Around him, life at Barça goes on. Pau Cubarsi, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal all reported for duty at the start of Wednesday’s session, folding back into Flick’s plans on the pitch. Pedri Gonzalez stayed inside, continuing his individual programme in the gym and never stepping onto the grass.

Several youngsters remain stuck in limbo. Marc Casado, Hector Fort, Jofre Torrents, Toni Fernandez and Gerard Martin continue to work away from the main group as they wait for clarity over their futures. For them, this is a tense, uncertain pre-season, their next steps still tangled in the market.

Flick still has a core of reserve-team players under his command. Goalkeeper Aron Yaakobishvili trains with the first team even as he edges towards a move to Almeria. Centre-back Alvaro Cortes, right-back Xavi Espart, left-back Jordi Pesquer, midfielders Ibrahima Toncara, Aurin Gorin and Brian Farinas, plus striker Hamza Abdelkarim, all remain in the senior sessions for now.

Barcelona’s squad is being reshaped in real time. Once Torres finally walks through the door in Paris, the question will be how quickly Flick’s new-look group can settle before the season starts to demand answers.
