Transfer Updates: Liverpool's Nallo Heads to Finland, Ipswich Secures Issa Diop, Besiktas Eye Joe Willock
Amara Nallo, the 19-year-old centre-back from Liverpool, looks ready to join Finnish club HJK Helsinki on loan. Nallo has been part of Liverpool for three years after moving from West Ham United and made a memorable yet troubled debut by receiving a red card in a Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven in 2024-25.
He also faced dismissal during an EFL Cup game versus Crystal Palace last season. His only Liverpool appearance without a sending off was in a 6-0 Champions League win over Qarabag in January. Despite Ibrahima Konate's exit, chances for Nallo in Liverpool's first team next season would be scarce, prompting this temporary switch according to journalist Eetu Ikola.
Nallo is already listed in HJK’s UEFA squad as they prepare for the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round clash with Coleraine. Details about any purchase option remain unclear, but Nallo remains under contract with Liverpool for two more years.
Issa Diop Joins Ipswich Town from Fulham
Ipswich Town have confirmed the signing of 29-year-old centre-back Issa Diop from Fulham. After four years at Craven Cottage where he appeared 96 times and scored three goals, Diop moves to Portman Road on a four-year deal, reportedly for around £8.6 million.
During the 2025-26 Premier League season, Diop found it tough to claim a regular starting spot behind Calvin Bassey and Joachim Andersen, making just 13 league appearances, eight as a starter. The Morocco international was a key figure in his national team’s 2026 World Cup quarter-final run, scoring a late equaliser in their shootout victory over the Netherlands.
"I'm excited to take the next step in my career at Ipswich Town. I know how big the club is and have enjoyed all of the conversations I have had before making the move. I know this is the right place for me," Diop said on Ipswich’s official site.
Besiktas Pursuing Newcastle Midfielder Joe Willock
Joe Willock of Newcastle United is attracting serious interest from Turkish side Besiktas. The 26-year-old midfielder struggled to secure a regular spot last season behind Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes, and Joelinton but still featured 39 times across competitions.
With just one year left on his contract and no renewal in sight, Newcastle appear ready to let Willock go. Reports from journalist Luke Edwards reveal that Besiktas are trying to convince him to join the Turkish Super Lig, and negotiations over a transfer fee are ongoing. Newcastle initially signed Willock from Arsenal for £25.1 million in 2021 after a strong loan spell.
Willock had a remarkable run in the 2020-21 season, scoring in seven consecutive Premier League games. His total stats for Newcastle include 19 goals and 11 assists in 182 matches.
Fulham in Talks to Sign Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Garcia
Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa is keen on bringing Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid to Craven Cottage, with talks underway. Garcia made a splash during the 2025 Club World Cup, scoring four goals and assisting once in six matches. However, the 22-year-old’s progress stalled in the following season due to fierce competition upfront.
Garcia managed eight goals and three assists in 39 appearances last season. His contract with Real Madrid runs until 2030 following an extension signed last summer. Though new coach Jose Mourinho values Garcia, he cannot promise consistent playing time and won’t block a potential transfer.
Reports suggest Real Madrid will seek some form of preferential terms if the deal goes ahead, possibly a buyback clause or a share of future sale proceeds.
