Harry Kane did not just reach 100 Bundesliga goals. He tore up a record that had stood untouched for nearly half a century – and did it with time to spare.
In Bayern Munich’s ruthless 7-0 demolition of Union Berlin, the England captain hit his century in only his 98th league appearance for the club, smashing Dieter Müller’s 49-year-old mark. The Cologne forward had needed 129 matches to get there back in 1977. Kane has arrived, scored, and kept on scoring at a rate that makes those old numbers look almost quaint.
Since landing in Munich in 2023, he has averaged a Bundesliga goal every 78.5 minutes. That is video-game output. Across all competitions, the figures are just as staggering: 152 goals in 154 games, with 61 in 51 outings last season alone.

He was not finished. Early in the second half, Michael Olise bent in a tempting cross and Kane met it with a firm header for his 101st league goal, pushing Bayern clear and sending them top of the table before the rest of the weekend’s fixtures. The numbers and the narrative both belonged to Kane, yet somehow he still shared the stage. Olise produced his first Bayern hat-trick, a statement performance from a summer signing who looks increasingly at home in Munich’s front line. Kane knew the spotlight was his, but he spread the credit around.
“I’m very proud to have now scored 100 and 101 Bundesliga goals. I haven’t been around that long. I’ve loved every second of it,” he told Sky Germany, before turning immediately to the players around him. “With Michael, Lucho [Luis Díaz] and Jamal I naturally get chances and today was no exception.
“So I just want to thank the team, the club, the coach, and the staff – everyone who has helped me achieve this. Let’s keep going like this. Scoring more goals in games is obviously a big step. Of course, there have been many important goals among them. I can only say that I’m enjoying every minute of it. Just like today.”
That enjoyment is written all over his record. A century in 98 games. A goal machine driving Bayern back to the top. The question now is not whether Kane will set records in Germany, but how many he can stack up before he is done.
