Holywell Earns First Point in Dramatic Comeback Against Trefelin
Holywell Town finally have something on the board. It took a comeback, a late strike and a fair bit of nerve, but their first point of the season arrived at home against fellow promoted side Trefelin.
For an hour, it looked like another grim afternoon. Trefelin, still hunting their first top-flight win, struck first with a moment of real class. Louis Phillips spotted his chance on the edge of the area and sent a superb lob arcing over the keeper to silence the home crowd and give the visitors control.
Holywell refused to fold. The game grew stretched, tackles sharpened, and the sense of desperation in the stands turned into a roar. Eight minutes from time, the pressure finally told. Harvey Morris found the breakthrough, forcing in the equaliser to drag Holywell level and ignite the ground at last.
The point felt vital, but the table remains unforgiving. Holywell stay bottom, still searching for that elusive first win.
Peers and Calland fire Airbus
At Old Road, Airbus made their intentions clear early. In-form forward George Peers continued his hot streak, striking for the third game running. On 20 minutes, he arrived in the right place at the right time, finishing from close range after a precise cross from Jordan Evans.
Airbus carried that edge into the second half. Just three minutes after the restart, they broke from a counter attack with purpose, and Oliver Calland capped the move with his first goal for the Wingmakers, giving the visitors a firm grip on the contest.
Clarke punishes former club as Caernarfon climb
Caernarfon Town climbed into fourth with a ruthless 3-0 win over struggling Flint Town United, and it was a familiar face who did the damage.
Former Flint striker Zack Clarke made it nine goals for the season and showed little mercy to his old club. He struck in first-half stoppage time to open the scoring, a blow that sent Flint in at the break deflated. Seven minutes into the second half, Clarke struck again, tightening Caernarfon’s hold and underlining the gulf in confidence between the sides.
Caernarfon weren’t done. Osian Evans, in strong scoring form himself, added a third to complete a convincing victory. Flint, still without a win this season, sit 15th and look increasingly in need of a spark from somewhere.
Cambrian fight back as Cardiff Met falter from the spot
At Cyncoed, Cardiff Met seemed to be cruising. On the stroke of half-time, Spencer Dymond-Hall rose to meet a cross and powered in a header to give the hosts the lead. Early in the second half, Sam Jones doubled it, and the game appeared to be drifting away from Cambrian United.
Liam Williams’ side refused to accept that script. Seven minutes after going 2-0 down, Alex John cut the deficit and swung the momentum. Cambrian pushed higher, chased every loose ball, and the pressure unsettled the home side.
The equaliser came from the edge of the box, Harrison Bright stepping up to drill home and haul Cambrian level. The drama didn’t stop there. Cardiff Met had the chance to snatch all three points from the penalty spot, but CJ Craven missed, leaving the home crowd stunned and Cambrian celebrating a hard-earned point.
On a day of comebacks and frustration across the division, some sides clung on, some slipped, and others, like Holywell and Cambrian, showed they might just have the resilience to turn their seasons around.
