Hull near £22m deal for Iroegbunam as Everton brace for Ndiaye exit
Transfer deadline day has arrived – and Everton are right at the heart of the storm.
On one side, Hull City are closing a deal that would make Tim Iroegbunam the latest piece in their summer rebuild. On the other, Manchester City are moving to prise Iliman Ndiaye away from Merseyside in a move worth up to £65m. All with the clock ticking towards 23:00 BST.
Hull push through £22m move for Iroegbunam
Hull have agreed a £22m package with Everton for midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, a significant outlay for a club intent on reshaping their squad before the window slams shut.
The 23-year-old is set to leave Hill Dickinson Stadium for an initial £13m, with a further £9m tied up in add-ons. Everton, who only brought him in from Aston Villa for £9m in 2024, have granted permission for the player to travel to East Yorkshire and complete his medical.
Hull’s recruitment drive has been relentless. Iroegbunam is poised to become their 13th signing of the summer as they scramble to finalise multiple deals before Tuesday night’s deadline. Talks are ongoing over a loan for Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo, underlining how aggressively they are attacking this final stretch of the window.
Man City win race for Ndiaye after Spurs move collapses
While Hull build, Everton prepare to lose one of their key attacking threats.
Manchester City have agreed a deal worth up to £65m for Iliman Ndiaye, the agreement structured as £60m up front with a possible £5m in add-ons for the Senegal international.
Ndiaye, 26, had looked set for a very different destination. Tottenham had reached an agreement with Everton on Friday, with a separate transfer lined up that would have seen Richarlison return to his former club for £35m.
The entire plan hinged on personal terms. That is where it broke.
Richarlison could not agree a contract with Everton, and without that, Tottenham were unable to push through their move for Ndiaye. The opening slammed shut for Spurs, and City stepped in to close the deal.
Window ticking down across Europe
The Premier League and EFL window shuts at 23:00 BST on Tuesday, restoring the late-night finish after last season’s earlier 19:00 closure.
This is the second spell the window has been open this year, after it restarted on Monday, 15 June. Fifa regulations cap the total length of transfer windows at 16 weeks in any calendar year.
Across Europe, the squeeze is just as intense. Spain, France and Italy also shut their windows on Tuesday, but earlier in the evening. In Germany, the Bundesliga deadline is 19:00. Scotland, by contrast, have a little more breathing space, with clubs able to trade until 17:00 on Thursday, 3 September – the same cut-off for the Women’s Super League.
Aznou heads back to Spain with Malaga loan
Away from the headline fees, Everton have sanctioned another departure.
Left-back Adam Aznou has joined La Liga side Malaga on loan for the 2026-27 season. The 20-year-old arrived at Everton from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025 but found opportunities scarce, making just two senior appearances last term – one in the FA Cup and one in the Carabao Cup.
For Aznou, it is a return to familiar ground. A product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, he spent three years with the Catalan club as a teenager before moving to Munich in 2023. Now he goes back to Spain seeking the regular minutes that eluded him in England.
Hutchinson swaps Forest for Milan stage
In Italy, AC Milan have moved to bolster their forward line with the loan signing of Omari Hutchinson from Nottingham Forest until the end of the season.
The seven-time European champions hold an option to make the deal permanent next summer, giving them a close look at a player who cost Forest £37.5m from Ipswich Town only a year ago.
Hutchinson struggled to fully establish himself at the City Ground, starting just 17 Premier League matches in a turbulent campaign under four different managers. Milan now offer a more stable platform – and a very different kind of pressure.
Man City land Allan as Savio replacement
Manchester City’s work does not stop with Ndiaye.
They have also secured winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal worth up to £34.2m. City will pay £32m initially, with a further £2.2m possible in add-ons, and the 22-year-old Brazilian has signed a five-year contract.
Allan arrives as a direct replacement for compatriot Savio, who completed a £75m move to Tottenham last week. A right-sided winger with end product, Allan recorded nine goals and 12 assists in 96 appearances for Palmeiras after rising through their academy.
City’s attack, already stacked with options, gets another injection of pace and flair.
Forest reunite Munoz with Glasner
Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, continue to back Oliver Glasner.
They have completed the £22m signing of Colombia right-back Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace. The defender knows Glasner’s demands well; the pair won both the FA Cup and the Conference League together at Selhurst Park.
Munoz has signed a three-year deal after two and a half years with Palace, where he scored 11 goals in 109 appearances – impressive numbers for a full-back. He follows the £50m arrival of Liam Delap and could be thrown straight in for his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.
A new right flank, rebuilt at significant cost, will be under the microscope immediately.
The day that shapes the season
By 23:00 BST, the deals will stop. The debates will not.
Hull’s gamble on Iroegbunam, Everton’s reshaped spine without Ndiaye, City’s latest attacking upgrades, Forest’s aggressive backing of Glasner – all of it will be judged not tonight, but in the months to come.
