Hull City Secure Elliot Stroud from Mjallby for £3.5m
Hull City have officially added Swedish international Elliot Stroud to their squad, signing him from Allsvenskan champions Mjallby in a £3.5 million transfer. The 24-year-old midfielder has committed to a four-year contract at the MKM Stadium, with an option to extend for an additional year. Stroud becomes the Tigers’ seventh summer signing as they prepare for their Premier League return.
A Proven Talent with European Experience
Stroud arrives after a successful stint in Sweden where he made 87 league appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists. His contributions helped Mjallby clinch the 2025 Allsvenskan title and the Svenska Cupen, adding silverware to his resume before making the leap to England’s top flight.
World Cup Experience and High Ambitions
The midfielder also represented Sweden at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring in four matches as his country reached the round of 32. Speaking about his move, Stroud expressed excitement:
“I am super happy and super excited to get started here. When I first heard of the interest, it was the only thing I wanted to do. I have individual hopes to play at the highest level possible. When an opportunity like this comes, it’s not something you take lightly. To do it here in Hull is an exciting opportunity.”
He reflected on his World Cup experience and ambitions with Hull:
“The World Cup was an amazing experience. To represent your country in a World Cup is the biggest honour you can have as a player. It was a dream of mine to play in the Premier League. I am super excited to get this opportunity and hopefully create something magical this season.”

Stroud joins a growing list of new players at Hull, alongside Jack Butland, Oscar Zambrano, Matt Targett, Hidemasa Morita, Konstantinos Tzolakis, and Jens Hjerto-Dahl. The club is expected to continue strengthening its roster ahead of the new season.
Hull City will face Manchester United at the MKM Stadium on August 22, marking their first Premier League match since the 2016-17 campaign.
