Inter's Transfer Moves: Selling Motta and Pursuing Reggiani

Inter have quietly moved one defender out the door and immediately turned their gaze to one of Europe’s most coveted young centre-backs.

The Nerazzurri have officially sold academy product Matteo Motta to Pescara, with the 21-year-old left-back leaving permanently after his loan spell at Lumezzane. Inter have protected themselves, though: they retain 50 per cent of any future sell-on fee, a clear sign they still believe the defender could grow in value away from San Siro.

Motta, who never made a competitive appearance for the senior side, now drops into Serie C with Pescara in search of regular football and a career reset. Inter, meanwhile, are already plotting their next defensive move.

Inter push for Reggiani

In Germany, reports from Bild claim Inter have once again asked Borussia Dortmund about the availability of Luca Reggiani, the 18-year-old Italian central defender who has exploded onto the scene in the Bundesliga.

Reggiani, a product of the Sassuolo youth academy, left Italy for Dortmund in February 2024. The move has paid off spectacularly. He has flourished in Germany’s top flight and forced his way into the Italy senior setup, earning his first cap at just 18 in June 2026.

That rise has not gone unnoticed in Milan. Inter have returned to the table, testing Dortmund’s resolve. The response, for now, is blunt.

The German club want to keep him. Reggiani only recently extended his contract, and Dortmund see him as a cornerstone of their future rather than a name to cash in on.

Inter have made their interest clear. Dortmund have made their stance even clearer. If the Nerazzurri really want to bring Reggiani back to Italy, the next move will have to be a big one.
