Sporting director Mario Aiello has confirmed negotiations are at a decisive stage, raising the prospect of the 35-year-old playmaker turning up in Italy’s second tier just months after his stint in MLS with Montreal Impact.
“The negotiations are in a decisive phase, and the agreement could be concluded in the coming hours,” Aiello said, underlining how close the deal now appears.
Nesta factor drives audacious bid

At the heart of it stands Alessandro Nesta.
The Avellino manager, a 2006 World Cup winner with Italy, has been the key figure in persuading the Colombia captain to seriously consider dropping into Serie B.
