Josh Yaro Joins AC Boise on Loan from St. Louis CITY SC
St. Louis CITY SC have sent veteran defender Josh Yaro on loan to USL League One side Athletic Club Boise for the remainder of the 2026 season, handing one of the club’s original pillars a fresh run of regular minutes.
The 31-year-old has been embedded in the CITY project since 2022. He helped anchor CITY2’s back line during their charge to the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference title, then stepped up to the first team when St. Louis made the jump into MLS in 2023.
Inside the club, Yaro’s influence has stretched well beyond the training pitch.
“Josh has been with the club from the beginning and has always been a great teammate, stepping up whenever needed both on and off the pitch,” Sporting Director Corey Wray said. “He has embraced the city and consistently made an impact through numerous community initiatives, which speaks to the person he is. We are excited that he now has an opportunity to get consistent minutes in a competitive team and wish him and AC Boise the best for the remainder of the season.”
For St. Louis, the move clears a pathway for emerging defenders while keeping a trusted professional in their wider orbit. For AC Boise, it brings in an experienced organizer who has already proved he can be a cornerstone for a young club finding its identity.
Yaro now trades MLS lights for the grind of USL League One, with something simple but vital on offer: a guaranteed run of games and the chance to drive another new project from the back.
