Juventus reset their goalkeeping department this summer and walked straight into a duel that could define their season.
Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin have gone. In their place, two loans, two strong personalities, and one shirt up for grabs: Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham and Kamil Grabara from Wolfsburg.

Both goalkeepers know there is no comfort zone here. Every save, every decision, every training session feeds into Spalletti’s judgment. With no automatic starter, the standard has to stay high. The Italian coach can pick the man he believes best fits each match, and both will feel the pressure to convince him they should be that man.
The dynamic could sharpen Juventus rather than destabilise them. A complacent No. 1 can drag a team down. Two hungry goalkeepers, both on loan and both eager to prove they belong at this level, can drag the level up.
Vicario on Grabara: “Healthy competition”
Vicario himself is not shying away from the contest. Speaking about Grabara, the Italian was quick to underline the quality of the man chasing his place.
“We all know each other more or less, I remember his great season in the Champions League with Copenhagen. He's a strong, quality goalkeeper. There's healthy competition between us, as it should be,” he said, via Tuttomercatoweb.
Respect, but no fear. That is the tone.
Vicario wants to remain Spalletti’s preferred option. Grabara wants to change his mind. Juventus, watching two ambitious keepers fight for one position, stand to gain from every training duel and every matchday decision.
