Juventus Stand Firm on Kenan Yildiz Amid Arsenal Interest

Juventus are drawing a hard line over Kenan Yildiz – and Luciano Spalletti is leading the resistance.

Arsenal’s interest in the 21-year-old winger has been no secret, with reports in England and Italy describing him as a dream signing for Mikel Arteta this summer. The Premier League side are understood to be ready to push aggressively for the deal.

Juventus, though, are not blinking.

Speaking to the media, Spalletti made his position crystal clear. Handling Yildiz, he said, is “easy” for him, before underlining that no offer would tempt him into letting the youngster go. He insisted he wants Yildiz at Juventus and will keep putting him on the pitch, stressing that the player’s “future is already important” in Turin – not because of big-money interest from elsewhere, but because of what he represents for the club.

That message simply reinforces what has been coming out of Juventus all summer. General manager Damien Comolli has already branded Yildiz “untouchable” and “at the centre of our project”, and he has openly acknowledged Arsenal’s pursuit. The punchline was brutal for any suitor: Juventus would not sell “even if they offered €100m”.

Arsenal’s admiration, however, has not cooled. Sacha Tavolieri reported that Yildiz is viewed inside the club as a dream wide option for Arteta, with the manager pushing for the move for some time. The feeling in north London is that this is the kind of signing worth going all out for.

For now, that ambition is meeting a brick wall.

The Gunners are keeping their options open. James McNicholas reported for The Athletic that Arsenal are watching the market to see if either Yildiz or Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid becomes attainable before the window closes. They are lurking, waiting for any late shift in stance or circumstances.

Juventus insist that shift is not coming. With a week or so left in the window, the Italian club continue to project absolute certainty: Yildiz stays, regardless of the number on the bid.

If Arsenal want their man, something dramatic will have to crack in Turin – or they will be forced to turn that full attention elsewhere.
