Juventus Set to Loan Zion Suzuki from PSG Ahead of Free Transfer for Alisson Becker

Juventus are preparing to bring in Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki on a one-year loan from Paris Saint-Germain as a temporary fix. This move allows the Serie A club to wait patiently for their top target, Liverpool's Alisson Becker, who will be available on a free transfer in 2026.

PSG to Finalize Suzuki Transfer from Parma

Reports from Italy and France indicate that PSG are close to completing Suzuki's transfer from Parma Calcio 1913. The deal is expected to be worth around €30 million, with an additional €5 million in performance bonuses. Although Suzuki will officially join PSG, he is unlikely to feature for the French side this season. Instead, he will return to Italy on loan at Juventus for one year, serving as a short-term option while Juventus focuses on securing Alisson later.

Spalletti’s Preference for Alisson Remains Clear

Throughout the summer, Juventus explored options for strengthening their goalkeeper position, including talks with Aston Villa over Emiliano Martinez. Yet, coach Luciano Spalletti has made it clear that Alisson is his preferred choice. Having previously coached Alisson at Roma, where the keeper had 64 appearances and 26 clean sheets, Spalletti values his experience highly.

Earlier this year, Alisson showed willingness to move back to Italy, even if it meant missing Champions League football. Despite mutual interest and Alisson’s positive view of Juventus’ rebuilding plans, Liverpool firmly declined to sell him during this transfer window.

Liverpool Blocks Immediate Transfer but Juventus Ready to Wait

Liverpool remain unwilling to part ways with their star goalkeeper, who has featured in 333 matches and kept 140 clean sheets, winning multiple league titles and a Champions League trophy. Manager Andoni Iraola emphasized Alisson’s importance, saying:

I believe he will be an extremely important element in helping the new players adapt, whether they are experienced or young players. We need role models within the dressing room, such as Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, and Joe Gomez, players who have spent many years at the club. I am confident that we will get this kind of support.

Preparing for the Future

With immediate options limited, Juventus will focus on integrating Suzuki into their squad once the loan agreement is finalized. Meanwhile, Alisson remains a crucial figure for Liverpool as they get ready for their Premier League opener against Newcastle United.

The Italian club intends to monitor Alisson closely and hopes to sign him on a pre-contract deal ahead of his contract expiration in June 2027. Alisson also holds 83 caps for Brazil, highlighting his international experience.
