The teenage star came into the World Cup recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out toward the end of Barcelona’s La Liga season. But he showed great quality. The team supported him well, and he contributed to the team. That cooperation worked perfectly.”

Lewandowski, whose own national team Poland missed out on the tournament, admitted he cheered for Spain in the final against Argentina because of his close friendships with players from his Barcelona days. Explaining his choice, he said, “I know many Spanish players and spent a lot of time with them in Barcelona, so I was supporting them a lot. I only know Leo Messi personally from Argentina, and since he won the last World Cup, I rooted for Spain instead. Playing together creates strong bonds, making it easier to back that team.”
He added, “I was happy because they looked ready to win. They’re very young, and their future is bright.”
