Liverpool Agrees Terms with PSG Winger Ibrahim Mbaye Amid Bid for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, marking a major step in their summer transfer plans. The club is now working to complete a remarkable double signing from the European champions, which would also see forward Bradley Barcola join the ranks at Anfield.

Mbaye Set for Five-Year Deal

The 18-year-old Senegalese talent is close to finalizing a five-year contract at Anfield, according to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport. Head coach Andoni Iraola sees Mbaye as a key addition to bring more speed and youth to Liverpool’s attacking lineup, following the recent signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

Mbaye attracted interest from clubs like Bayer Leverkusen but appears eager to make his mark in the Premier League. Last season, he appeared 29 times under coach Luis Enrique, scoring three goals, although playing time was limited behind established stars such as Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Barcola Bid Raised to €135 Million

Alongside the Mbaye agreement, Liverpool has increased its bid for Barcola to €135 million. The 23-year-old French international has long been a target for the Reds, and this latest offer reflects Liverpool’s readiness to meet PSG’s valuation.

The club has been cautious about overspending after last summer’s record £125 million signing of Alexander Isak. Yet, with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos now involved in Liverpool’s ownership, the club’s financial stance has shifted, enabling a more assertive approach in the transfer market. Liverpool currently await a final decision from PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

PSG Manager Luis Enrique Remains Silent

PSG boss Luis Enrique has stayed tight-lipped about the futures of Mbaye and Barcola. Both players were omitted from the squad that lost to Lens in the Trophee des Champions, despite being unused substitutes during the UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa days earlier. When asked about their status, Enrique refused to comment, saying he would address transfers once the window closes before leaving the press conference.

PSG’s Squad Reshuffle Continues

Mbaye and Barcola’s possible exits come amid significant changes at PSG. The club has already secured young prospects Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax as part of its rebuilding efforts.

Liverpool sees an opening during this transition. With Mohamed Salah’s departure, they are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of the transfer deadline.
