Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has hit a deliberate pause, with talks with Paris Saint-Germain frozen as the two clubs sit miles apart on valuation, according to L'Équipe.

The 23-year-old France international has been identified inside Anfield as a priority attacking signing, a forward seen as capable of adding both depth and unpredictability to Liverpool’s front line. But the numbers on the table are brutal.

PSG are demanding a fee in the region of £145m for the former Lyon forward. Liverpool have no intention of matching that figure. For now, that stand-off has brought negotiations to a halt.

Barcola’s stance adds another twist. He is unwilling to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes and would be open to a move to Merseyside. The player is ready. The clubs are not.
