Liverpool Pursues Bradley Barcola from PSG
Liverpool’s chase for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola is turning into one of the window’s late sagas, with the deal poised to go right up to the deadline, according to The Athletic.
The 23-year-old France international has emerged as Liverpool’s priority target to strengthen their wide attacking options before the summer window shuts. He is the name at the top of their list. The problem is the price.
PSG are holding firm. The Ligue 1 champions are understood to want around €170m to even consider letting Barcola leave for Anfield. Liverpool, for all their admiration, are nowhere near that figure yet.
The gap is stark. Liverpool have already tested PSG’s resolve with an offer of €115m, but that bid was rejected by the French club, who feel they are dealing from a position of strength with a key attacking asset under contract.
Yet the story hasn’t cooled. Far from it.
L’Équipe report that despite the stand-off between the clubs, Barcola himself remains confident he will get his move to the North West of England before the window closes. The player is said to believe a breakthrough will come, even with negotiations locked on valuation.
Liverpool are expected to come back again, this time with an improved proposal closer to PSG’s demands. How close they are willing – or able – to go towards that €170m mark will define whether this pursuit ends in a statement signing or a late collapse.
For now, the clock is ticking, the gap remains, and one of Europe’s most intriguing transfer battles is heading for a tense finish.
