Liverpool Considers Loan Offers for Keyrol Figueroa on Deadline Day

Liverpool’s deadline day is a balancing act. Holes in the squad on one side, surplus players on the other, and only hours left to sort it all out.

Amid the noise around big names and obvious gaps, one of the more intriguing subplots involves Keyrol Figueroa.

The young forward, who signed a new contract with Liverpool last season, is once again on the move. Or at least, that’s the plan. According to The Athletic, the 20-year-old has two concrete offers on the table for a loan this season, and Liverpool are deciding which one to accept.

One of those proposals will go through unless a late third option drops in. Either way, Figueroa is expected to have a new club by the end of the window, but only on a temporary basis.

It’s a curious situation. When he surprisingly renewed his deal, plenty around the club expected him to run it down and leave in 2026. Instead, he’s stuck in limbo: tied to Liverpool, but nowhere near the first-team picture.

And he’s not alone. Harvey Elliott is on the brink of a move to Valencia, a deal that is described as virtually done. Federico Chiesa’s role remains cloudy as well, another attacker whose fit in the current set-up is anything but obvious.

The pressure of deadline day sharpens all of this. Liverpool need reinforcements, yet they also need to clear space for players who have no realistic path into the senior squad right now. Figueroa sits firmly in that second category.

What happens after this loan could define his Liverpool story. A standout season might force a rethink. Anything less, and the path to Anfield’s first team looks as distant as ever.
