Contract Situation Clouds Torres’ Future at Barcelona

The 26-year-old's contract with Barcelona has less than a year remaining, and the club is actively looking to strengthen its attack. Their primary focus includes signing a centre-forward, with keen interest in Julian Alvarez, whom Barcelona views as the long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

This pursuit of Alvarez casts uncertainty over Torres’ role at the Catalan giants. Last season, Torres delivered his best campaign yet, scoring 16 league goals from 33 appearances, despite starting only 23 matches.

Liverpool Sees Opportunity to Bolster Attack

According to L'Equipe, Liverpool’s new coach Andoni Iraola has singled out Torres as a prime candidate to reinforce a forward line weakened by Mohamed Salah’s departure and Hugo Ekitike’s Achilles injury, which could sideline him until 2027.
