Liverpool Agents Push to Finalize £80m Yankuba Minteh Transfer Today
Liverpool might still add a new player before the transfer window shuts at 11pm Tuesday. The agents of Brighton and Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh are working hard to complete his move to Anfield, according to senior correspondent Ben Jacobs from GIVEMESPORT.
Earlier reports suggested that Cody Gakpo would remain with Liverpool after potential talks for a big-money move to Manchester City failed to produce an agreement. With no replacement secured for the Dutchman, the Reds have kept him in their squad.
Liverpool had submitted a £60m bid for Minteh, which was rejected by Brighton. The club has also been linked with Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace, but no deals have materialized so far.
Speaking to talkSPORT on Deadline Day morning, Jacobs revealed that Minteh's agents are eager to finalize a transfer today. He reported that Brighton is demanding around £80m for the Gambian winger, though it's unclear if there will be flexibility in negotiations as the deadline approaches.
Minteh Suits Iraola’s Style
It's understandable why coach Iraola is targeting one of the Premier League's fastest players to boost Liverpool’s attack. Having managed players like Antoine Semenyo and Eli Junior Kroupi at Bournemouth, Iraola values explosive speed, which Minteh offers in abundance.
