Manchester United Sign Liverpool Teenager Isaac Konde
Manchester United have moved to prise away one of Liverpool’s brightest prospects, agreeing a deal to sign 16-year-old midfielder Isaac Konde from their fierce rivals.
The highly rated youngster is set to join United after the final formalities were completed within the last 24 hours, according to Fabrizio Romano. The transfer represents a rare piece of business between the two clubs, even at academy level, and underlines United’s determination to aggressively restock their youth ranks.
Konde has featured six times for Liverpool in the Under-18 Premier League this season, registering one assist. Those appearances were enough to catch United’s eye, with the club pushing through an agreement with Liverpool to bring him to Old Trafford.
It is the latest step in a wider reset of United’s academy squads. Several promising youngsters have departed in recent weeks, forcing a reshuffle behind the scenes.

- Arsenal swooped earlier in the summer, taking defender Habeeb Ogunneye and forward James Scanlon to the Emirates on permanent deals.
- Another forward, Louie Bradbury, has also moved on. The 17-year-old striker has joined Stoke City on a permanent basis, signing a two-year contract with an option for an additional season that could keep him there through the 2028/29 campaign.
United marked his exit with a detailed tribute, underlining how highly he was regarded on his way through the system.

“Last season he scored eight Under-18 Premier League goals and also registered at Premier League 2 level.

The turnover has not been entirely on United’s terms. They pushed to land Leicester City talent Louis Page before the deadline, only to be left frustrated when the two clubs failed to reach an agreement in time. Page will stay with the League One side, at least for now.
So United turn to what they have secured. Konde’s arrival, plucked from the academy of their historic rivals, adds another intriguing layer to a youth rebuild that is gathering pace.
