Manchester United Target Palmeiras Starlet Eduardo Conceicao

Manchester United are preparing to muscle their way to the front of the race for Eduardo Conceicao, with reports in Brazil claiming a concrete move is close.

The 16-year-old Palmeiras winger, known as Dudu, has exploded onto the radar of Europe’s elite after standout displays for Palmeiras U20 and Brazil’s U‑17 side. Direct, right-footed and deployed off the left, he drives straight at defenders and attacks the box with a maturity that belies his age. He wastes little time with sideways dribbles. He goes straight for goal, and that has clubs scrambling.

Manchester City are among those tracking him. They are not alone. A string of top European sides have already made their interest known. But United are now trying to change the tempo of this transfer chase.

United line up €40m package

According to UOL Esporte, United have already sent a clear signal to the player’s camp. The report states that the English club has indicated an offer worth €40 million (around £35m), made up of fixed and variable payments.

That is a serious statement for a teenager who has not yet broken into the Palmeiras first team on a regular basis. It also underlines how aggressively INEOS intend to move in the youth market.

The same report highlights the pressure coming from across town. The City Football Group are described as one of the main contenders for Dudu’s signature, a factor that has sharpened United’s stance. The idea of watching another generational Brazilian talent drift to the blue side of Manchester has not gone down well at Old Trafford.

So United are pushing. Hard.

Old Trafford preferred?

There are growing suggestions that Conceicao has already indicated Old Trafford as his preferred destination in Europe. That would go a long way to explaining why United are prepared to advance so quickly and why promises are already being made to his entourage.

From INEOS’ point of view, there would be little sense in committing to a major bid if the player had not shown a clear willingness to join. The early signals, though, point towards United being confident enough to step up.

If they can now convince Palmeiras, the path looks far smoother.

Building a new core

Should United get this over the line, Dudu would slot into a growing cluster of high-upside teenagers being assembled for the club’s next era.

INEOS have made no secret of their desire to stockpile elite young talent and build a squad that can dominate over the long term, not just patch holes from one window to the next. Names like JJ Gabriel, Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven already hint at a strategic shift. Add Dudu to that group and the picture becomes clearer.

United are not just chasing the finished article anymore. They are trying to own the future.
