Didier Deschamps Confirms Kylian Mbappe Ready for France’s World Cup Semi-Final Against Spain

Didier Deschamps has reassured fans that Kylian Mbappe will be fit for France’s crucial World Cup semi-final clash with Spain, even though the forward recently faced some ankle issues. The France captain had a separate training session on Monday, sparking worries about his condition, but Deschamps explained this was simply part of managing his workload ahead of the big match.

Deschamps Addresses Mbappe’s Injury Status

After Mbappe limped off in the 77th minute during France’s 2-0 victory over Morocco, concerns grew over a minor ankle injury. Reports surfaced that he was still feeling discomfort and trained apart from the main group. Still, Deschamps dismissed any setbacks, confirming the player is ready to face Spain.

“He feels good,” said Deschamps, as quoted by The Athletic. “He has the right, like others, to go 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes on a drill.”

France Gain Midfield Boost as Tchouameni Nears Return

Mbappe enters the semi-final leading the Golden Boot race with eight goals, narrowly ahead of Argentina’s Lionel Messi thanks to assists. His presence is vital as France prepares for a challenging Spanish side known for their possession play.

Another positive development is the potential return of midfielder Tchouameni, who has been absent recently but may be available after sitting on the bench in the last game. Deschamps noted:

“Even though he was on the bench for the last game, the risk was still high. He’s better today. I’m not going to say he has been 100 per cent cured. He’s now available.”

Focus Shifts to Spain Semi-Final

With Mbappe expected to start and Tchouameni likely back in the squad, France gains crucial options for what promises to be one of their toughest matches. Both players’ availability boosts Deschamps’ hopes as they aim to reach the World Cup final.
