Pedro Neto Transfer Interest Grows Amid Chelsea's Stance

Pedro Neto has emerged as one of the most intriguing late-window storylines at Stamford Bridge, with four Premier League clubs circling and Manchester City among the admirers.

The 26-year-old Portugal winger is not on Chelsea’s internal list of “untouchables”, leaving the door open to a move before the transfer deadline if a club is willing to pay. That is a big if.

Chelsea are adamant they will demand a major fee for Neto, who arrived from Wolves in 2024 for £54m. They see a market that has lost all sense of restraint when it comes to wide forwards and intend to price him accordingly.

Recent deals have only strengthened that stance. The £117m paid for Morgan Rogers and Paris St-Germain’s £145m valuation of Bradley Barcola are viewed at Stamford Bridge as clear markers of an inflated market. Those numbers have fed directly into how Chelsea now assess Neto’s worth.

That has not put Manchester City off. Neto is firmly on their radar, and a move to the Etihad would reunite him with former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca. The pair are understood to enjoy a strong relationship, and Neto was among the players reported to have been frustrated when Maresca left midway through last season.

Chelsea know that combination – a manager who trusts him and a club with serious financial power – makes City a particularly dangerous suitor. The interest is real. The question now is whether anyone is willing to meet a valuation shaped by a transfer market that has gone wild for wingers.
