PSG’s Transfer Window Still Active, Says Luis Campos

Paris Saint-Germain sports advisor Luis Campos has made it clear that the club's transfer window is far from closed as the September 1 deadline approaches. The French champions are actively exploring both incoming signings and possible departures, despite growing interest from Liverpool in two of their young attackers, Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.

Campos Issues Market Update

Addressing the media about PSG’s transfer plans, Campos emphasized that the club remains open to opportunities until the window shuts. He reminded everyone of last year’s late deal involving Gigio Donnarumma, which was finalized on September 2nd, underscoring the club’s readiness to act late in the market.

"The transfer window is far from over, it’s still open. Between now and the end, on the arrivals side, if we find a good opportunity, we’ll take it. It’s like that every year," Campos said.

Liverpool Eyes Two PSG Attackers

Liverpool have targeted both Barcola and the promising teenager Mbaye as part of manager Andoni Iraola’s plan to strengthen attacking options at Anfield. Barcola impressed during his breakthrough season in Paris, gaining a reputation as one of Europe’s exciting wide forwards.

The 18-year-old Mbaye has also caught attention with his swift rise through PSG’s academy, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs looking for long-term talent.

Neither player featured in PSG’s recent Ligue 1 opener against Rennes, which ended 2-2, nor in earlier matches including the Trophée des Champions loss to Lens and the UEFA Super Cup win against Aston Villa.

PSG Holds Firm on Barcola and Mbaye

Despite speculation over a potential double signing by Liverpool, PSG is not rushing to sell either player. Coach Luis Enrique sees Barcola as a key part of his squad, while the club regards Mbaye as an important future asset. When asked about the duo, Campos remained cautious: "You mentioned (Bradley) Barcola and (Ibrahim) Mbaye, we’ll see what happens."

Negotiations with Liverpool continue. PSG already rejected an initial offer for Barcola. Another bid is expected soon, and talks regarding Mbaye are ongoing. Reports suggest PSG want around €70 million for Mbaye, a price Liverpool is currently reluctant to meet.

What’s Next for PSG?

PSG will focus on improving their early-season performances while keeping transfer discussions active. Without Barcola, they started the campaign by losing the French Super Cup to Lens and drew 2-2 with Rennes in Ligue 1’s opening game. Their next match is against Lille on August 28.

With Campos managing the transfer dealings, PSG is likely to remain engaged in the market and resist Liverpool’s advances for Barcola and Mbaye before the window closes.
