Rafael Leão Addresses Future Speculation Amid Transfer Rumors
Rafael Leão has had enough.
The Milan forward broke his silence on Instagram, firing a clear warning at the swirl of rumours around his future and calling out “speculation and stories that aren’t true” about an exit from San Siro.
Leão draws a line in the sand
In a story posted to his personal account, the 27-year-old Portugal international pushed back against the noise and tried to drag the spotlight back onto the pitch.
“My only thought is on the field: I am concentrated on giving my best, every single game and every single training session,” he wrote, alongside a photo of himself working in training with the Rossoneri.
Then came the key clarification. Leão stressed that only a tight inner circle handles his business.
“Just to avoid any form of speculation and stories that aren’t true, I repeat that for some time I’ve assigned all my interests exclusively to my family and my lawyers. Nobody else is authorised to speak for me. My mind is on the next objectives.”
No agents. No intermediaries. No shadow spokesmen. Leão wanted that point to land.
Turkish chase meets Milan’s hard line
His outburst drops at a delicate moment. Galatasaray are heavily linked with a move for the former Lille winger, with reports in Turkey and Italy placing him high on their list of marquee targets.
Leão himself had hinted at the end of last season that his cycle in Milan might be nearing its end, suggesting he was ready for a “fresh challenge”. A jump to one of Europe’s traditional top five leagues has not materialised, though, and that vacuum has dragged the Super Lig into the conversation.
Galatasaray are not alone. Fenerbahce and Besiktas have also been credited with interest, sensing an opportunity if Milan and player decide the time is right to part.
The numbers, for now, say otherwise.
Milan are standing firm. Reports indicate the club have already knocked back an opening Galatasaray proposal in the region of €35 million. The Rossoneri are understood to want a package of at least €60 million, bonuses included, before they will even think about sanctioning a sale of one of their star attackers.

By publicly naming only his family and lawyers as the people authorised to handle his affairs, Leão appears to be putting distance between himself and any agents or brokers who might be sounding out clubs such as Galatasaray on his behalf.
That stance lands in a complex contractual landscape.
Leão is tied to Milan until June 2028. It is a long deal, one that hands the club significant leverage in any negotiation. They do not need to sell. They do not need to rush into a renewal either, and there is no immediate push from the board to extend those terms.
Yet that same security keeps a subtle tension alive. Here is a player who has previously spoken about wanting something new, and a club that would listen to the right offer but refuses to undersell.
The market window is open. The Super Lig sides are circling. Milan have named their price.
And Leão, for now, insists his head is only on the next game.
