Real Madrid Pauses Rodri Signing to Finalize Yan Diomande Deal

Real Madrid has decided to delay finalizing the transfer of Rodri Hernandez, the midfielder from Manchester City and Spain's national team. What seemed like an imminent agreement has been paused as the club prioritizes completing the signing of Yan Diomande, the Ivorian forward.

Diomande Deal Takes Center Stage

According to Spanish outlet AS, the plan to acquire Rodri remained steady after club president Florentino Perez gave approval earlier this week. Despite that, other transfers have demanded more immediate attention. The paperwork for Diomande is close to completion, with just a few documents remaining before he can officially join Real Madrid.

Both parties have agreed on a five-year contract for the Ivorian star. Club officials are focused on wrapping up the deal so Diomande can begin training under coach Jose Mourinho before the end of the week.

The club had hoped to finalize Diomande’s signing early this week but disagreements over a clause between Real Madrid and Diomande’s previous club delayed the process longer than expected.

Rodri Transfer Postponed

The planned talks with Manchester City about Rodri, scheduled for Thursday, have now been postponed. Interest in the midfielder remains strong, but other priorities have taken precedence.

Rodri's rise in importance at Real Madrid came after his World Cup performances, particularly in the semi-final and final, changed the club’s perspective on him. His technical skills and fitness erased earlier doubts, backing up a transfer valued close to 100 million euros.
