Ruben Amorim, AC Milan's head coach, gave the club's summer transfer dealings a flawless 10 out of 10 as they prepared for their Serie A game against Juventus. The Portuguese coach claimed he has the best squad worldwide despite significant player changes and is confident his team can keep their perfect record intact in Turin.
Strong Start to the Season
The Rossoneri have kicked off the campaign with wins over Torino and Venezia, maintaining a 100% league record. If they manage to beat Juventus, Amorim could become only the fourth manager in Milan's history to win his first three Serie A matches. This will be their first match since the transfer window closed, with new signing Goncalo Ramos leading the attack after scoring in just his second league appearance during the victory over Venezia.
Manager’s High Praise for Squad
Concerns about Milan's attacking options arose following the departures of Alvaro Morata and Christopher Nkunku, but Amorim quickly dismissed doubts.
"My players are some of the best in the world, so I’m not going to say it’s an eight or a nine. Every player we’ve brought in fits perfectly with our team, so I’ll give it a 10! I have the best squad in the world," Amorim said.
He acknowledged that having two strikers with different styles might have been useful but remains open to rotating three players in attack. He noted that playing man-for-man tactics allows versatility, mentioning Christian Pulisic as an example of a striker profile that can benefit the team depending on the game.
No Intimidation Facing Juventus
Juventus started their season strongly as well, keeping clean sheets in wins over Frosinone and Parma. Amorim said his team is mentally ready for the challenge.
"During pre-season, we weren’t winning and already felt pressure. We rotated players and traveled a lot, but the pressure was there early on. Every match is big for clubs like ours. Juventus is a strong test to see if we've improved since last week. It’s important we play well away against a great team and coach. I’m excited; not worried. My team is ready," he explained.
