San Diego FC Signs Veteran Striker Cedric to Boost Attack

San Diego FC have moved for proven firepower, unveiling veteran Congolese striker Cedric as the latest addition to their attack.

Sporting director Tyler Heaps did not hold back in his assessment of the signing, hailing both the pedigree and personality arriving in Southern California.

“Cedric brings an incredible level of experience and proven quality to San Diego FC,” Heaps said in the club’s announcement, framing the move as a statement of intent for the new project.

Heaps stressed that this is not just another name on the teamsheet, but a forward forged at the sharp end of elite football.

“He has built an outstanding career competing at the highest levels in Europe and internationally, and his ability to consistently find the back of the net has been a defining part of his game. He understands what it takes to perform on the biggest stages and brings a winning mentality that will be extremely valuable to our group.”

The numbers back him up. Since breaking through at Sochaux, Cedric has compiled 191 goals and 49 assists in 492 professional appearances, a body of work built across major stops with Villarreal, Marseille, Olympiacos, and Galatasaray.

For DR Congo, he has been just as central. Seventy-two caps, 21 international goals, and four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments underline a striker accustomed to carrying responsibility for club and country.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Cedric and his family to San Diego and look forward to seeing him make his mark with our club,” Heaps added, underlining the expectation that this is a signing designed to deliver immediately.

Cedric joins an attacking unit already stacked with talent. Anders Dreyer, Marcus Ingvartsen, and fellow 2026 World Cup forward Elias Achouri give San Diego FC a front line loaded with goals, variety, and experience.
