Strasbourg Signs Chelsea's Omari Kellyman Permanently
Strasbourg have completed the permanent signing of Chelsea attacker Omari Kellyman, in yet another transfer link between the two clubs under the BlueCo umbrella.
The deal, which includes a buyback clause for Chelsea, is the 20th transfer between the sides since they came under the same American ownership group. It is also expected to be only the first move in a busy week of business between London and Alsace.
Chelsea striker Deivid Washington is set to follow Kellyman to the French club in a similar arrangement, strengthening Strasbourg’s attacking options again. On top of that, either midfielder Dario Essugo or winger Mykhailo Mudryk is in line to join on loan, as the shared ownership continues to shape both squads.
Kellyman, 20, arrived at Stamford Bridge from Aston Villa in 2024 for £19m, a signing made with clear long-term intent. But his Chelsea spell never really started. A run of hamstring injuries stalled his progress and he failed to make a first-team appearance.
Now he gets a reset in Ligue 1, while Chelsea keep a door open through the buyback clause. The wider question is how far this pipeline between Chelsea and Strasbourg will go as BlueCo’s multi-club model beds in.
