Tottenham and Everton Agree Swap Deal with Iliman Ndiaye and Richarlison Transfers

Separate Deals for Ndiaye and Richarlison

Reports from The Athletic confirm that Tottenham and Everton are finalizing separate deals. While Ndiaye heads to Spurs, Richarlison is moving back to Everton. Both transfers depend on passing medical examinations and settling personal terms. Ndiaye's move follows his refusal of several contract extension offers from Everton last season.

This signing offers Tottenham some relief after missing out on Liverpool’s forward Cody Gakpo, who chose to join Manchester City instead.

De Zerbi Comments on Player Departures Amid Team Turmoil

Spurs coach Roberto De Zerbi disclosed that Richarlison, along with Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr, requested transfers before Tuesday’s deadline. The trio was left out of Tottenham’s recent 2-0 loss to Newcastle United. De Zerbi expressed frustration over Richarlison's repeated desire to leave but emphasized good relations with the players.

"Richarlison, I don't know. He said too many times he wants to leave," De Zerbi said. "Danso came to me two days ago and said he wants to leave. Pape Sarr the same, but he suffered a small injury and is almost ready to train."

The manager added that if players want to depart, they must bring an economic solution, allowing Spurs to find replacements.

Richarlison Returns to Everton as Spurs Rebuild Faces Challenges

Richarlison departs Tottenham after scoring 32 goals in 134 appearances since his £60 million transfer in 2022. He goes back to Everton, where he scored 53 goals in 152 matches and became a fan favourite.

Tottenham’s £350 million summer rebuild has struggled so far. High-profile signings like £100 million midfielder Sandro Tonali and forwards Omar Marmoush and Savinho have not yet made a big impact. Spurs barely avoided relegation last season and look vulnerable again.

Currently, Spurs sit at the bottom of the Premier League table after losses to Brentford (3-0) and Newcastle (2-0). This marks the first time since the 1974-75 season Tottenham lost their opening two league games without scoring.
