Tottenham Secures Omar Marmoush on Loan from Manchester City with £60m Obligation to Buy
Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement to bring in forward Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on a loan deal that includes a compulsory purchase clause set at £60 million for next summer.
The 27-year-old Egypt international follows fellow City player Savio to Spurs after the North London club finalized the Brazilian's signing for an initial £75 million just days earlier.
Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt last January for £59 million but found opportunities limited behind star striker Erling Haaland. His recent appearances include coming off the bench during City's 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield and remaining an unused substitute in the 2-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth.

What Marmoush Brings to Tottenham
Marmoush netted 16 goals in 62 appearances for City across all competitions since his arrival from Frankfurt. In the 2025-26 season, he scored eight times in 36 games but saw his Premier League minutes drop sharply, starting only eight league matches and totaling about 700 minutes on the pitch. His league stats include three goals and three assists, matching closely with his expected goals figure of 3.53.
Competition was stiff at City, with Haaland as the centerpiece and additional attacking reinforcements arriving. At Spurs, forwards like Dominic Solanke have struggled with injuries, and Richarlison is entering the final year of his contract, indicating a need for fresh options up front.
Marmoush primarily operates as a central striker but has shown versatility, having played as a second striker and from the left flank at Frankfurt and similarly at City. This adaptability fits well with manager Roberto de Zerbi’s style, which often involves forwards swapping positions, dropping deep, and exploiting spaces created by drawing defenders out. Marmoush appears comfortable fulfilling these roles.
