Tottenham Signs Sávio for £75m as De Zerbi's Revolution Continues

Tottenham have completed the signing of Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City, with the 22-year-old opting to be registered as Sávio at his new club in north London.

Transfer Fee: £75m up front, with up to £10m in potential add-ons

It is another statement move in an increasingly lavish summer under Roberto De Zerbi.

“It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here,” Sávio said after the deal was confirmed. “It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.”

De Zerbi, who has pushed hard for more incision and flair in the wide areas, made it clear why Spurs were prepared to go so big on the Brazilian.

“Sávio is a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions,” the head coach said. “He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity.”

The move continues an aggressive rebuild of Tottenham’s attack and defence. Another Manchester City forward, Omar Marmoush, is also expected to follow Sávio to north London, which would further deepen the club’s options in the final third.

If that deal is completed, Marmoush will become Spurs’ fifth signing of £50m or more this summer, joining Sávio, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke in a window that has radically reshaped the squad. At the back, the experienced defenders Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson have already arrived on free transfers, adding know-how and depth without a transfer fee.

Big money, big names, and a manager determined to imprint his style. Tottenham are betting heavily that Sávio is the winger who turns all that ambition into something tangible on the pitch.
