2026/27 UEFA Champions League Draw: Time, Seedings & Live Broadcast Info
The UEFA Champions League 'League Phase' draw for the 2026/27 season is set for Thursday, August 27, 2026. It kicks off at 5pm BST (12 noon ET) and takes place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
This event will be hosted by Reshmin Chowdhury with UEFA deputy secretary general Giorgio Marchetti and former UEFA communications director Pedro Pinto assisting. UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin is expected to give an opening speech.
Teams and Seedings Explained
A total of 36 teams are split into four pots based on their five-year UEFA club coefficients. The reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain automatically occupy Pot 1.
Each team faces six opponents during the league phase, playing one home and one away match against two clubs from each pot. Teams from the same country cannot be drawn against each other, and no team can have more than two opponents from the same national association.
UEFA introduced a new rule preventing any fixture between the same two teams from being held at the same venue for three consecutive seasons. For instance, if Arsenal and Inter Milan meet again this season, the match cannot take place twice at San Siro in a row.
