In 2025, the world of women’s football witnessed an unprecedented surge in transfer fees. Chelsea, Arsenal, the Orlando Pride, and the London City Lionesses all smashed the sport’s transfer record within the same year, signaling a new era of investment. The fee paid by Chelsea in 2020 for Pernille Harder, once the highest in history, has since slipped far down the list and doesn’t even rank among the top 40 transfers now.
