Yves Bissouma Set for Ajax Move with Short-Term Deal

Yves Bissouma is closing in on a move to Ajax, with the former Tottenham midfielder set to sign an initial deal running until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old, a free agent since leaving Spurs in June, is in Amsterdam to put the finishing touches on his return to top-flight football in the Netherlands. The agreement is understood to include an option for Ajax to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

For the Mali international, it marks a fresh chapter after his time in north London. Bissouma joined Tottenham from Brighton in 2022 in a high-profile transfer and went on to make 111 appearances for the club, operating as a defensive anchor in midfield.

His Spurs spell, though, ended on a flat note. In August 2025, then-manager Thomas Frank omitted Bissouma from the squad to face Paris St-Germain in the Uefa Super Cup, citing persistent lateness as the reason for his exclusion.

Now Ajax are offering him a reset. A new league, a new dressing room, and a short-term deal that leaves one clear question hanging over the move: can Bissouma turn this opportunity into a longer stay in Amsterdam?
