Arsenal Extends Landmark Shirt Deal with Emirates to 2033
Arsenal have underlined their new status as Premier League champions by tying down one of football’s most recognisable commercial partnerships for almost another decade.
On Thursday, the club confirmed a fresh extension to their long-running agreement with Emirates airline, a deal that now stretches to 2033 and cements what is already the longest continuous shirt sponsorship in Premier League history.
A Partnership That Redefined the Shirt
The Emirates logo will remain on Arsenal’s home, away and third kits, as well as the training gear, while the airline also retains naming rights to Emirates Stadium. It is the continuation of a relationship that began in 2006 and helped usher in the modern era of mega-deals between elite clubs and global brands.
Back then, Arsenal were moving into a new home and a new financial reality. The airline’s name went up on the stadium and across the shirt, becoming part of the club’s visual identity for a generation of supporters. Eighteen years on, that image is not going anywhere.
Champions’ Timing
This renewal does not arrive in a vacuum. Arsenal have just been crowned Premier League champions, a title that carries both emotional weight and commercial power.
For chief executive Richard Garlick, the timing underlines the scale of the club’s ambitions. He described winning the league as “an exceptional moment in the club’s history” and stressed that Emirates had stood beside Arsenal “at the various stages we have gone through over the past two decades.”
The message is clear: this is not a short-term cash grab, but a vote of confidence in where Arsenal believe they are heading. Garlick framed the extension as a reflection of “both parties’ belief in Arsenal’s future and their shared desire to continue developing and achieving more successes.”
Beyond a Logo
Emirates president Sir Tim Clark set out the other side of the equation. For the airline, this is not just about visibility on a shirt or a stadium facade. He characterised the relationship as having gone far beyond traditional sponsorship, evolving into a joint platform that has shaped how millions of fans interact with the club.
Over the years, Arsenal and Emirates have used that platform to push the club’s global reach, rolling out initiatives and fan experiences that, as Clark pointed out, neither could have delivered alone. From international tours to tailored matchday activations, the airline’s branding has been woven into the match-going and digital experience.
The renewed contract signals Emirates’ intent to keep riding that wave with Arsenal, “eager to keep writing history with the London club” as Clark put it.
Twenty Years, Marked in Style
The ink on the new deal coincides with an anniversary. Arsenal and Emirates are about to celebrate 20 years together, and the club plans to lean into that milestone.
Over the coming weeks, a series of events and fan-focused activities will mark two decades of partnership. Central to those celebrations will be a new promotional film revisiting the standout moments of the relationship, fronted by former defender and club legend Per Mertesacker, now a key figure in Arsenal’s academy setup.
It is a nod to the past, but also a reminder of how deeply the airline’s branding has embedded itself in the club’s modern story.
A New Phase Begins at Home
The next chapter starts where so much of the partnership’s history has been written: at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal will host Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup, with special celebrations planned around the occasion to highlight both the new agreement and the 20-year journey.
A packed home crowd, a marquee European opponent, the club back on its perch as champions, and the same name across the chest and above the stands.
Arsenal’s future will be judged on trophies and performances, not sponsorship contracts. But with this deal locked in until 2033, one thing is certain: wherever the club go next, Emirates will be flying there with them.
